Many applications were received and the awards were based on grade point average, need, honors, extracurricular activities, community service, future goals and recommendations. Scholarships of $1,000 each were presented to the following Lancaster High School students:

Frances Nichols Memorial Scholarship awarded to Wayne Loucas Lamkin

Lawson-Williams Memorial Scholarship to Racquel Francis

George F. Clarke Scholarship to Sara Marie Caudle

New Scholarship to be awarded for 2008

Guidelines for the Linda Treakle Scholarship have been completed and the first scholarship will be awarded in June 2008.

Anyone wishing to make a donation to the scholarship fund should indicate "Linda Treakle Scholarship Fund" and place donation in offering plate or leave in Church office.
